Bunya Mountains Horse Drawn Tours
For 30 years now the sound of Bunya Mountains Horse Drawn Tours’ Clydesdales hooves mixed with tourist’s laughter have sounded through the beautiful Bunya Mountains. Tours start from only $5 person and are available by booking. Their most popular tour is the Billy Tea and Damper trip which meanders through private rainforest, fresh damper and billy tea and roasted bunya nuts can be enjoyed around the campfire. This tour takes about 2 hours and is $50 for adults and $25 for children.
Bunya Mountains Community Markets
The Bunya Mountains Community Markets are held on the last Sunday of every month. Markets operate from 9am to 2pm on Bunya Avenue, Bunya Mountains, Queensland 4405.
Enjoy the market stalls with locally grown produce, homemade products, art and craft. Located within the iconic Bunya Mountains National Park, the markets make for a fantastic day out for the entire family.
Some of the ‘must-tries’ include a variety of food made with the local Bunya nuts, such as the Bunya burgers, beef and Bunya pies, scones, carrot cake and the famous Bunya nut ice-cream. There is plenty of space to sit, relax and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Coomba Falls, at Maidenwell, is an exceptionally beautiful place, featuring a deep natural swimming hole and striking granite cliffs. The water is icy most of the year, so it’s the ideal site to cool down on a hot day.
